Barefoot Forest Hike

An Experience from Vayu-Institut Berlin

Event Description

Do something good for your mind, your spirit and your feet!

In this unique hike, we'll ditch the clunky hiking shoes and step into nature barefoot. The hike takes place just 30 minutes outside of Mitte in the magical forests of east Berlin Friedrichshagen. With experienced guides to lead the way, the path is specifically chosen to accommodate this shoe-free journey with soft ground and feet-friendly textures. The experience is designed to be relaxed and serene, as your feet travel over paths of meadow, sand, moss, foliage, grass, clay and earth soils. You'll walk through puddles and dip your feet crystal clear streams. The hike is meant to be a time to discover and connect with nature, with a relaxed pace from about 2 km - 8 km to distance, depending on the group and the weather.

The practice of barefoot hiking is becoming an increasingly popular activity that promotes health, relaxation and a deeper connection with nature. So join us for the first Saturday of every month as we step out of our ordinary routines into a special experience with nature.

  • The Right Shoes

    Bitte denken Sie an Schuhe, die Sie leicht an- und ausziehen können (z. B. Flip-Flops oder Turnschuhe)

  • What To Bring

    A small towel for your feet, tea or water for yourself, and appropriate clothing depending on the weather

  • What Else?

    You can walk barefoot the whole route, but of course you don't have to - do it as you like! We will help you and you don't have to worry about anything else - we will do the rest for you!

The Vayu Institute Berlin (VIBE) offers hatha yoga, forest bathing and barefoot walking for everyone. Just east of Berlin, Vayu practices mindful yoga and conscious walking in the middle of nature. Trained and certificated by the German health insurance system yoga instructors are guiding you with calmness and serenity out of your everyday life so that you can release the tensions of the week. With pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) and intelligent movement you will find new strength during your stay in nature.
